Now things are happening – ovulation!
During ovulation, a mature egg detaches from the ovary and is caught by the fallopian tube. It is now that the egg can be fertilised. The egg can only be fertilised from ovulation and 24 hours onwards. Therefore, it is best if fertilisation takes place just before ovulation, or just in connection with it so that the sperm arrives in time.
Mothers development
At the end of this week, you can be pregnant!
Notice that your discharge becomes clearer and as well as tougher in texture. This is because the sperm should be able to travel more easily. When ovulation is over, the discharge becomes white and thick again. During ovulation, you may also notice a rise in body temperature of about 0.5 degrees.
If you have had IVF, you are one step ahead and already know if and when a conception has taken place.
Co-parent
During the first, second and third week of pregnancy, you probably do not know that you are expecting a baby.
But perhaps early pregnancy symptoms are beginning to show; metallic taste in the mouth, nausea - Congratulations, your partner has been fertilised!
If you have had IVF, it is now that the embryo (a fertilised egg) has been inserted and you have a small head start and already know that fertilisation has taken place.
