Why support is important during pregnancy
During pregnancy, both physical and emotional needs increase. Small things, like someone helping with shopping, cooking, or attending midwife appointments, can make a big difference. Feeling seen and cared for strengthens your wellbeing and your relationships.
How your partner or loved ones can help
- Practical help – e.g., cooking, carrying shopping, assembling the pram.
- Emotional support – listening when you need to talk or share thoughts and feelings.
- Involvement – let your partner attend scans, midwife appointments, and help with birth preparations.
Pregnant without a partner
If you are pregnant alone, turn to friends or family. Most people are happy to help, but sometimes you need to remind them what you need.
Dare to accept help
Many expectant parents want to do everything themselves, but it’s completely fine to lean on others. Asking for support can give you more energy to feel good and prepare for your baby’s arrival.
